Couples Therapy in San Diego & Online in California.

Helping you understand each other again.

Somewhere between what you meant and what they heard, things got complicated.

Maybe small disagreements turn into bigger fights. One of you shuts down while the other pushes for a conversation. You’re trying to explain yourself, but somehow neither of you walks away feeling understood.

Or maybe there isn’t a lot of fighting at all. You’ve just started to feel disconnected, unsure how to talk about what’s bothering you, or like something between you has shifted.

Couples therapy gives us a chance to slow things down, understand what’s happening between you, and find new ways of responding to each other.

Couples therapy can help you with:

  • Breaking out of the same arguments and patterns

  • Communicating without immediately getting defensive or shutting down

  • Feeling more heard and understood by each other

  • Navigating trust, jealousy, or insecurity

  • Understanding how past experiences show up in your relationship

  • Feeling more connected and like you’re on the same team

What couples therapy with me looks like…

I'm not here to decide who's right or take sides. I'm interested in what happens between the two of you — the patterns you get pulled into, what each of you is trying to communicate underneath your reactions, and why it can be so hard to hear each other in the moment.

Sometimes we'll slow down a disagreement and figure out what actually happened. Sometimes we'll look at the experiences each of you brings into the relationship and how they shape what feels threatening, important, or hard to ask for.

We'll work on communicating differently, but also on understanding each other differently. Because knowing the “right” way to communicate doesn't always help when you're hurt, angry, scared, or feeling misunderstood.

The goal isn't to never disagree. It's to understand what's happening when you do — and learn how to find your way back to each other.

You don’t have to keep having the same conversation.

If you’re ready to understand what keeps getting in the way—and start finding a different way forward together—I’d be happy to see if we’re a good fit.
